A Second Phytoplankton Photobioreactor for Brant Point Shellfish Hatchery

Tara Riley, TON Shellfish and Aquatic Resources Manager, and her team at the Brant Point Shellfish Hatchery have successfully been using our first gifted bioreactor to feed their shellfish seed with its controlled algae production system.

The Foundation has now gifted a second bioreactor to the Town Hatchery so that the entirety of their algae production can be handled by bioreactors saving even further on labor and maintaining a completely clean food source. Click below to read more about these incredible machines and how they benefit Nantucket Harbor and our shellfish populations.
